Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End was directed by Gore Verbinski and this movie became the part of trilogy about Caribbean pirates, particularly Jack Sparrow. At World’s End was released in 2007 and had the highest in the history of box office budget – $300 million. In May 2007 the film earned $58 million, in July this amount had been $500 million already. And worldwide Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End earned $961 million.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest is an adventure film, made by Walt Disney Pictures. This movie was directed by Gore Verbinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.

Dead Man’s Chest was shot during 2005. Its release was maden in 2006 in United Kingdom, Australia and USA.

The film won the 79-th Academy Award in 2006, Oscar for Best Visual Effects, Teen Choice Awards (in nomination Best Actor for Johnny Depp, BAFTA, 33-rd People’s Choice Awards; in 2007 – MTV Movie Awards, Saturn Awards, Kids Choice Awards.

Sherlock Holmes (2009)

Sherlock Holmes is action, adventure, detective film directed by Guy Ritchie. This movie became a blockbuster in Dicember 2009 – in its first weekend the film earned $62,4 million and during two months (Dicember 2009 and January 2010) Sherlock Holmes grossed $295,2 million.

Sherlock Holmes won Golden Globe in nomination the Best Actor (Robert Downey, Jr.). And this movie was announced in nomination Best Score of the Broadcast Film Critics Association, but lost  to Up in the Air.

Avatar (2009)

In 1994 James Cameron (director of Avatar) wrote a story in 80 pages. He planned to begin creation of Avatar in 1999 (after Titanic completion). But technical resources didn’t  permit to realize Cameron’s ideas, therefore he could to develop Avatar only in 2005.  Budget of Avatar was  $280- 300 million. Filmmakers earned on Avatar $27 million on December 18, 2009  (its opening day) and $ 77  million – in opening weekend. Before New Year Avatar earned over $1 billion. This film became the second highest-grossing movie after Titanic.
